Leaving a job that is compromising your identity…yes yes and YES!!!! Jobs are NOT worth the stress if it’s more work, stress, and compromise than what it’s worth!

Exactly!!! That post was SO cathartic to write. Maybe having one crazy stressful job was worth it if it means that I’ll never make the same mistake again of compromising what’s important to me for a job!

I loved going through your travel posts from the year—you definitely gave me a travel bug. We went to Boston this year and absolutely loved it. This year, we are going to Playas Mujeres for our honeymoon in September. We typically do 1-2 trips a year, which always gives us something to look forward to. I also appreciate your post talking about perfectionism and your stuggle with anxiety. As someone who struggles with those things, it was very helpful to read! Congrats on all the wonderful content you produced this year, girl!

I’m so glad you loved Boston! It’s such an amazing place to live and work. I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing, fun honeymoon–I just looked up pictures of Playas Mujeres, and it looks so perfect!!
I’m sorry you have similar struggles to mine–it sucks–but the whole point of writing about it was to connect with other people and hopefully share some wisdom with them, so I’m glad they reached you 🙂
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment, you brought a big smile to my face! Happy 2018!

This is such a great round-up! I thoroughly enjoyed your post with 27 facts about you and I liked all your music playlist posts (I don’t talk much about it now but I was really serious about music for a while and studied clarinet performance in college; I ended up not pursuing music after college but I still love just getting absorbed in music.) It looks like you went on some fantastic trips in 2017 too – I can’t wait to see what’s in store for you in 2018!

Thank you so much, Liz–that’s so sweet of you! I’m the same way with music these days–it occupies such a large part of my heart even though I don’t perform anymore. It’s hard to spend so much of your time and energy learning about something, and then not having an outlet for it at all–but I hope for both of us that we find a balance between the two extremes in the future!
